It's nearly time to start our Virtual Advent Tour for this year and I for one am very excited at the prospect of getting underway.
We are very pleased with the turnout so far, but it isn't too late to sign up. Just go to the sign up post and complete the form. If you want a specific date let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you! Don't forget to grab your favourite button to use as well!
Today I thought I would address some of the more frequently asked questions over the years.
We have tried to make the tour as inclusive as we can, so you don't need to be celebrating Christmas in order to participate. We would love to hear from people who aren't celebrating Christmas but have some other celebration and about what you do for those celebrate!
One of the hardest things about doing this is to try and coordinate these things relates to timezones. With Kelly being in Canada and Marg in Australia, we are at opposite ends of the same date all the time.To try and make it easier for everyone concerned we have set the blog time to GMT so you can use that as your guide if you are a bit concerned about when to post.
Each day we will post that day's schedule of stops, and where possible we will link to the actual post so make sure you add us to your feed reader, or to your Twitter feed or stop by each day to see where we are visiting. You can see the schedule as it currently stands here, but please be aware that as more people join in the schedule will also change a little.
For something a little different, this year I will be sharing holiday related quotes here on the blog from books I have read through this year. It is surprising how few quotes there were in general reading, but I think I have come up with something for nearly every day.
We encourage people to comment on the blogs that are participating, and hopefully you will discover some new blogs to read along the way. I certainly seem to find new blogs all the time during the tour.
Most of all we hope that everyone has a fun time participating as both hosts and visitors, and Kelly and I thank you all for your continued support of the tour.

Very excited for this to start! I need to pin down what I actually want to do for this, too. All my ideas are mushed together in a clump in my brain. ;)
On a semi-related note - I don't know what blogger widgets are available, but if there's one to add the Share This buttons for twitter/facebook to the posts, it would be great. I'm all ready to start sharing them with the world. ;)
I will see if I can figure it out! I am supposed to be doing that at Historical Tapestry as well and got distracted by something else! Thanks for the suggestion.
Well, that was easier than I thought it would be! Done!
Looking forward to participating and checking out other blogs as well! Should be a great way to count down the days to Christmas!
betty
Thanks for adding the share buttons, Marg! I really appreciate it. Now to spam the world with links to the blog. haha
